#STAR WARS KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC RESOLUTION 1920X1080 1080P#Over the years, BW has divulged that many of the imposed rendering restrictions are due to PvP and 'unfair advantages' - despite counter points of new technology and the 'rendering performance problems' being more of an issue with still being on a 32bit single core process.Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords | PC Gameplay | 1080p HD | Max Settingsīuy Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords Here. The general consensus was that this was an issue with the Hero engine, or at least how BW had/has it configured (and unchangeable by the end user). (~approx res, too long ago to recall the actual number) Using 3 ultrawides (2560x1080), long before 4k, I had tried to get 7680x10x2560 to work, but anything beyond ~3000 had the "world" stretching very badly on that axis. But somehow I doubt it will fix anything. Then I'll try to find the latest GPU drivers. Now, first I have to download the whole game again because of the 0.00% download-bitraider-bug Interestingly enough the UI looks good - the tiles for the class stories for example are perfect quares. ![]() I just got me a 3840x1600 screen and the game looks thick. #STAR WARS KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC RESOLUTION 1920X1080 DRIVERS#I feel the blame is split between the monitor manufacturer's being lazy with their drivers and EA for not updating their EDID detection to keep up with current hardware/driver trends. The game does not look at that and just sticks to the standard one. #STAR WARS KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC RESOLUTION 1920X1080 DRIVER#It's been quite a long time since I had to tinker with this but from what I remember it was that the invalid resolution was listed in the standard list for the driver and our 3840x1080 one was in an extra extended list. #STAR WARS KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC RESOLUTION 1920X1080 INSTALL#I forced it to use the standard Plug & Play monitor driver and then I could install my customised one. The only way I got around this was to remove all trace of the original driver from my system. Way to check that is to install your custom driver, restart Windows, run CRU again and check if the naughty res is back. I used CRU to remove the invalid resolution but it did not work straight away as Windows kept silently re-installing the official drivers. This did not show up in the WIndows 10 or Nvidia resolution dropdown but it seemed the game was detecting it and using it. I went the CRU route and sure enough I saw that it was listing that same invalid resolution at the top of the standard list. In-game it was reporting the wrong resolution and ours was not displayed in the list at all. I have the same resolution as you with my Acer curved display and also had the stretched problem. ![]() Im using Samsung CHG90 - 49 inch curved ultrawide monitor with 32:9 ratio. Im 90% sure that game is still trying to scale it based on 4k - 3840 x 2160 and so far even with custom drivers for monitor i couldnt fix this. Which Im downloading right now after purging the entire hdd of anything on registery or anything left on any temp data. Only thing I havent tried is reinstalling. I spent the last 3 hours trying to combine everything i saw from reddit to community forums to use to see if i can find a solution.Įven though UI elements scaled correctly models are stretched in a way that makes the game unplayable.ġ- Replaced my HDMI 2 cable with DP cable.Ģ- Replaced my HDMI cable entirely with a brand new one.ġ- Used CRU tool to create a new monitor driver with 3840 x 1080 as max and only resolution and forced driver to b e recognized by installing it on disable driver signature mode.Ģ- Used forced EDID to remove all other resolutions (However no matter what I do i still see 3840 x 2160 as an option as 4k both ingame as max resolution and on NVIDIA)ģ- Installed latest drivers, beta drivers, some performance drivers from guru3d.ġ- Disabled s caling on resolution settingsĢ- Both disabled full screen optimization on launcher and swtor.exeģ- Disabled scaling on DPI scaling on properties on both launcher and swtor.exe I also tried every single combination for DPI scaling on the compability mode.Ĥ- Tried compatibility modes for windows 7ġ- I tried to modify client.ini file for manually modifying the height and width to match native resolution.Ģ- Used some neat extra codes to force disable distortion (did not work) ![]()
